Our History
ConcussionHQ is a team of Physical Therapists from HealthQuest Physical Therapy who are trained specifically in the treatment and management of Concussions. Created by Doug Schultz, owner and director of HealthQuest Physical Therapy in Shelby Township, Michigan. He was interested in concussions and wanted to bring a new level of treatment to our team.
Our Treatment Approach
We provide more than just physical therapy. We are passionate about our work and inspired by our team!
Our approach to treating patients is unique but simple, we treat people, not just their pain or symptoms.
Personalized
Plans
Each patient receives a comprehensive individual evaluation and a treatment plan is created with the individual’s goals & history in-mind.
Specialized
Treatments
Our therapists have many tools in their toolbelt to help patients. From ultrasound to dry needling, we offer it all and we will utilize whatever the patient needs to improve.
Graded
Exercise Plans
Since every patient is different (and his/her injury) that means they heal at different rates, too. We adjust their activity gradually over time or as tolerated.
Functional
Retraining
Functional movement includes anything we do in daily life at home, work or for recreation. We break down functional movements into components to reprogram how our patients move to establish more efficient movement patterns, to prevent injury or further impairment.
“Hands on”
Manual Therapy
Our therapists perform mobilation of body parts to help the patient properly heal, relieve/manage pain, and restore normal range of motion. Most of our patients receive some form of manual treatment with each visit.
Seamless
Communication
It’s important for everyone to be on the same page. We communicate with your physician, coach, partent, athletic trainer…whoever needs to be in on our patients’ care is.
Our goal is to give our patients the BEST experience and most effective
treatment plan possible. Every patient is unique and receives
an individualized treatment plan.
